FAQs About Our Rental Process
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! Our RV Manuals that go out with each rental have links to some helpful videos that we created specifically for travelers out on the road. You can see them all here.
Our pricing is seasonal, similar to vacation rentals. You will see the base rate for the coach you selected on the booking page but once you add your trip dates you may see a different rate. Winter months are considered our off-season so you will find less expensive rates than you would in the summer or during holidays. We also offer discounts throughout the year. Follow us on Facebook to take advantage of these promo offers.
Renters are allowed 100 miles per night. If you go over this number of miles during your trip, you will be charged $0.35 per mile. RV’s are not rental cars and should not be used to travel long distances in a short amount of time. Take your time and enjoy the journey!
Renters are allotted 3 hours of generator usage per day (to be used at any time during your trip). There is a $10 fee for every hour used over the allotted time.
Yes, you can run the generator while operating the RV, just ensure you stay within your allotted hours of generator usage. See the question above, “How many generator hours are included?”
You can find a list of included items on the coach detail page along with a list of Add-Ons available at a cost. Click on the coach you plan to rent here and scroll down the page to see the list.
RV check in and check out times work similar to a hotel. The RV needs to be returned at 9:30 am and can be checked out at 1:00 pm. This allows us time to clean and do a thorough systems check on the RVs between rentals. For $150 you can move your pick up time forward to 10:00 am or your return time back to 2:30 pm. It is subject to availability at time of request.
Delivery can be arranged for nearby Colorado locations at a cost. Average cost for delivery is between $500 to $1,000.
No, we do not have any available parking. There is a DOT parking lot located 10 minutes from our location where you can pay to park your car.
Special discounts can be requested for rentals longer than one week.
You do not need a special license to drive an RV. Driving a Class-C RV is comprable to driving a U-Haul truck.
We require a minimum age of 27 years old to rent our RVs.
Insurance is required on all RV rentals. Your personal insurance does not cover RV rentals like it does for rental cars. There are a few different insurance options to choose from when you go to book. Pick the option that best fits your budget. You’ll also be able to select non-required add-ons like roadside assistance and trip insurance.
We are located close to the Denver International Airport. One block West of E470 at the E Jewell Ave. exit. We utilize a storage lot for pickups and drop-offs. The storage facility is not affiliated with Trailhead RV Rentals. Please do not contact them with questions. They do not allow parking, access to water or dumping of tanks. The address is 2151 S. Rome Way, Aurora CO 80018.
Yes! Winter is considered our off-season so you’ll see discounted rates in the Winter months. There are just a few additional instructions we will provide you before you embark. Your water tanks can freeze easily in the winter so it’s important to keep your water lines heated and know how to winterize the coach if you will be leaving it unattended for an extended period of time. Extra precautions should also be taken when driving on snow/ice. We will provide you with chains for these circumstances.
We recommend booking a campground with water and electrical hookups. Damage and additional cost can be incurred when the coach is not used as designed. You’ll need a 30amp power source. Many campgrounds will also ask you the length and number of slides of your RV when making your reservation. You can find that information on your coach’s detail page.
If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, reach out to us and we will work with you. A full refund will be provided if you cancel more than 30 days before your trip. There is no refund if you cancel less than 30 days prior to your trip.
Besides the obvious clothes and toiletries, you don’t want to forget towels and bed linens (unless you opt for our Linens package). You’ll also want to plan out your meals and make sure you have all the ingredients you need including spices and condiments. Pots and pans, grill, kitchen utensils, etc, are also a must (unless you opt for our Camping Essentials kit… which also includes camping chairs). Camping chairs and firewood are important if you want to have that memorable campfire under the stars (if there’s a fire ban you can opt for our propane fire pit). If you plan to explore your destination you’ll want bikes or maybe a car or ATV (look into our bike rack or car dolly options).
Please try to return the RV in the condition you received it in. You are not required to wash the exterior of the coach prior to return unless there is excessive dirt. Use the included cleaning supplies to clean the interior of the coach and wash kitchen items. You do not need to wash the linens (if applicable) but we do expect you to dump the waste tank and refill propane and gas tanks prior to return.
